The Position:

The Access and Funding Assistant is a new position within Holland Bloorview's Client and Family Integrated Care department and will support the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Transportation Fund. This is a temporary part time (0.4 FTE, or 15 hours a week) position expected to be 1 year in length, with the option of renewal. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day operations of the Emergency Transportation Fund.
  • Review and process transportation funding requests in accordance with established criteria and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of fund utilization, ensuring compliance with budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and effective communication with the review committee and other stakeholders.
  • Assess transportation requests based on established criteria and prioritize funding allocations.
  • Liaise with clinical teams and other relevant decision-makers to gather input and ensure a comprehensive understanding of each case as needed.
  • Provide recommendations and documentation for decision-making.
  • Support other team members with task completion if and when needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education (at least 2 years) with knowledge in healthcare
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in documentation and communication materials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other communication tools.
  • Experience with Meditech and familiarity with REDCap or similar data management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to adhere to directions provided and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Maintain a problem-solving lens approach in all aspects for work.
