Location: Sacramento, CA Natomas Park Club
Reporting To: Facilities Superintendent
Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour DOE

EMPLOYEE OWNER POSITION PURPOSE:

The Custodial Specialist is responsible for the general upkeep of clubhouses, administrative offices, and other common areas of the community. The Custodial Specialist serves as lead for the Janitorial team to complete assigned tasks under the supervision of the Facilities Superintendent. Key areas of focus include maintaining a clean and orderly environment, ensuring appropriate supplies are stocked, and performing non-routine support as needed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and supply designated building areas; this may include, but is not limited to: dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, gym equipment, fixtures, window washing and similar
  • Remove garbage and recycling daily; prepare bins for weekly collection
  • Safely handle cleaning supplies and related chemicals
  • Provide inventory reports of materials as needed to keep areas fully stock
  • Notify supervisor of occurring deficiencies or needed repairs and log them as work orders
  • Manage emergency cleaning and upkeep requests - particularly hazards (like water leaking on a walkway)
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned; this may include, but is not limited to: record and log daily task sheets, follow-up on assignments, weekly walkthroughs and inspections of restroom cleanliness, schedule flexibility to cover events and holidays
  • Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Basic computer skills are a big plus
  • Experience in janitorial services - with generally between 1-2 years of experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines and address time-sensitive issues
  • Superior multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to provide high-level customer service with astute attention to detail and organization
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to manage workflow amid shifting priorities
  • Willing to learn Company process and procedures, and learn/use proprietary software
  • Adaptable and dependable with a solid attendance record
  • Professional and respectful demeanor with all internal and external customers at all times
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work; public transit OK

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Use standard office equipment, including: computer, phone, copier/scanner, etc.
  • Proper and safe use of standard cleaning equipment and chemicals, including: mop, vacuum, caustic cleaning chemicals etc.
  • Be stationary or in motion for periods of time
  • Relocate up to (25) pounds
  • Able to perform outdoor work in all types of weather

SUPERVISES OTHERS:

  • None

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL:

  • Thursday - Sunday 11:00am- 7:30pm
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays
