Position Human Resources Manager  
Description

As the HR Manager, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing human resources functions across all properties. Your responsibilities include managing team member relations, retention, benefits, training, and team member communication, all while ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws. The HR manager will serve as a liaison in legal matters, handle employee relations inquiries, conduct discreet workplace investigations, and suggest policy improvements. Additionally, the HR Manager will oversee payroll, benefits, safety compliance, training program development, and the coordination of employee events. The HR manager will demonstrate a commitment to confidentiality and integrity, along with a strong dedication to fostering a positive work culture while upholding legal and ethical standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTES:

  • Align with HR department goals, complete assignments from the HR head, and maintain effective communication.

  • Conduct workplace investigations, provide guidance and counsel to team members and managers on employment issues and related laws, including but not limited to performance management, misconduct investigations, corrective actions, and employee relations-related matters.

  • Take a hands-on approach to monitor and enhance the current state of employee engagement.

  • Proactively recommend improvements to company policies for compliance, employee retention, and efficiency.

  • Ensure well-trained direct reports with the knowledge, skills, tools, and systems to excel in their roles.

  • Manage data entry, document management, and record-keeping processes with confidentiality.

  • Conduct investigations discreetly, addressing employee dissatisfaction, disagreements, safety standards, and policy noncompliance.

  • Maintain open communication with the HR head on all employee relation cases, escalating sensitive situations appropriately.

  • Analyze employee relations cases and suggest actions or programs to address patterns or common issues.

  • Assist department managers in talent management.

  • Help manage payroll for AREA15 properties, ensuring accurate and compliant payments.

  • Help develop and manage Policies and Procedures for Payroll practices.

  • Oversee the company’s benefit programs, conduct open enrollment meetings, and resolve benefit-related issues.

  • Investigate workplace injuries, collect information, and make recommendations to prevent future incidents.

  • Handle medical leave requests, ADA accommodation, and the interactive process.

  • Assist in developing and monitoring department training programs.

  • Administer the Company’s incentive and awards programs.

  • Ensure the success of company-hosted activities, events, and celebrations promoting a positive work culture.

  • Effectively meet deadlines at expected quality.

  • Exhibit ART! (AREA15’s service standards) at all times.

  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to AREA15 standards.

  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.

  • Be available to respond to time-sensitive matters and ensure timely responses.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.

  • Strong knowledge of human resource policies, procedures, and federal employment/labor laws (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, EEOC, FLSA, OSHA, etc.).

  • Minimum 3 years of high-volume human resources managerial experience in a large-scale Hospitality/Entertainment environment.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in handling employee and labor relations, conducting team member interviews, and managing workplace investigations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience in a rapidly changing and complex work environment.

  • Advanced project management skills, ability to lead projects and complete projects.

  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work with speed and accuracy.

  • Ability to develop relationships based on trust and integrity.

  • Handle confidential matters with discretion.

  • High level of integrity and personal ethics.

  • Physical ability to lift 25 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.

  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality.

  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.

  • Must have the ability to withstand high temperatures, heat, and sun exposure.
