Design Intern, Summer 2024 (Gold Rising)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our team as a graphic design and creative project management intern. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both areas within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be passionate about design, possess excellent organizational skills, and have a keen eye for detail.

This is a limited term internship position beginning in June 2024 through August 2024. The hourly wage for this role is $16.78.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Graphic Design:

  • Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing and on-brand templated graphics for digital and print materials.
  • Assist in developing creative concepts and translating them into compelling visual designs.
  • Contribute to the design and production of marketing collateral, social media assets, and internal decks/presentations.

 

Creative Project Management:

  • Support project managers in organizing and coordinating creative projects from concept to completion.
  • Assist in maintaining project timelines, tracking status updates, and ensuring timely delivery of design assets.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, marketers, and clients, to ensure project objectives are met including internal and external reviews and approvals.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Community college, trade school, and university undergraduate or graduate students from the class of 2024 or 2025 in good academic standing currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2.8 GPA.
  • Proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong creative and conceptual thinking skills. - Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities (familiarity with Microsoft 365, Dropbox, and AirTable a plus)
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Pre-press experience is a plus.

This internship is part of the Academy’s Gold Rising program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
