Share Email Opening Title Community and Impact Intern, Summer 2024 (Gold Rising)  Description Job Summary: The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is seeking a passionate and hardworking intern to assist the Community and Impact department in fostering a sense of belonging for historically excluded communities in the film industry through building community at the Museum’s programs, screenings, and exhibitions. The team achieves this through partnerships, outreach strategies, accessibility initiatives, community visits, and more. This is a limited term internship position beginning in June 2024 through August 2024. The hourly wage for this role is $16.78. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the team in maintaining relationships with community members, county/city offices, and nonprofit organizations. Support the execution of community relations projects including community partnerships, outreach efforts, onsite and offsite event planning, and more. Contribute to designing a comprehensive community engagement strategy around the Museum’s upcoming Los Angeles-centered summer programming. Conduct organizational research and evaluation. Collect and archive qualitative (exit interviews, surveys, etc.) and quantitative (ticketing, social media metrics, etc.) data in support of impact reporting efforts. Manage calendars and other administrative duties including ticket administration, data entry, and information management (Airtable, Dropbox, PowerPoint, etc.).   Position Requirements Qualifications and Requirements: Community college, trade school, and university undergraduate or graduate students from the class of 2024 or 2025 in good academic standing currently studying or interested in ethnic studies, sociology, communications, film studies, museum studies, or related fields are welcome to apply. Previous museum experience is not required. A minimum of 2.8 GPA. This internship is part of the Academy’s Gold Rising program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
