SRM has twelve leading fellowship-trained Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology specialists with expertise in infertility testing, treatment, male infertility (two on-site urologists), IVF, donor egg, donor sperm, artificial insemination, egg freezing etc. Additional services include acupuncture, counseling, infertility support group, genetics, tubal reversal, vasectomy reversal and fertility assessments for women concerned about reproductive aging. We currently have six locations in: Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Kirkland, Everett, and Spokane.

 

Summary:

Surgical technologists play a vital role in supporting fertility specialists and ensuring the safe and successful completion of procedures that help individuals and couples achieve their reproductive goals. Their attention to detail, sterile technique, and commitment to patient care are essential in the fertility clinic's surgical setting.

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to sit out of our Downtown Seattle clinic. 

Schedule #1 :Monday, Wednesday & Thursday working 7:30am-6:00pm and every other weekend 6:30am-2:30pm. This will be a full-time, full-benefits, 40 hours a week position.

Or 

Schedule #2  :Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:30am-6:00pm This will be a part-time position, working 30-38 hours a week.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in surgical procedures, not limited to Embryo Transfers, Egg Retrieval, Dilatation and Curettage, Hysteroscopy, Paracentesis, Vasectomy Reversal, TESA, Micro TESA, Varicocelectomy, & FNA Mapping
  • Knowledgeable of proper aseptic technique and set up/use of equipment.
  • Prepares surgical set up and field in accordance with AST guidelines.
  • Scrubs in accordance with AST guidelines.
  • Processes instruments according to SRMs Policies and Procedures and instrument IFUs and AAMI sterilization guidelines.
  • Cleans and cares for all equipment according to OSHA and manufacturer's IFUs
  • Assists with directing patients to and from the Operating Room/PACU areas.
  • Provide comfort and support to patients.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, calling for assistance from other health care support if needed.
  • Responsible for contacting vendors for equipment repairs and set up, stock, and maintenance in the surgery suite.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel in the event of a problem or conflict arising with the patient, physician or other required personnel.
  • Adheres to regulatory agencies and AAAHC guidelines and contributes to maintaining compliance.
  • Coordinates daily workload with Surgical Team to utilize time efficiently.
  • Uses Artworks EMR and charts in a complete and timely fashion.
  • Supply ordering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Contributes to team effort by maintaining an excellent rapport and working relationship with all members of Seattle Reproductive Medicine
  • Assures all patients are greeted with prompt attention and caring attitude.
  • Participates in orientation and training of new staff.
  • Assists the Clinical Operations Manager in the evaluation and need for new or different equipment and/or supplies.
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
  • Demonstrated experience in excellent customer service, internal and external.
  • Makes referrals to other team members.
  • Attends meetings as assigned; communicates issues where appropriate.
  • Cooperates, interfaces and works independently to assure the program goals are achieved.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • It is an essential function of this position to report to work on time for your scheduled hours, ready for work.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment.
 
Position Requirements
  • Surgical Technologist licensure required.
  • Completion of Surgical Technologist Program, preferred
  • 2 years’ Surgical Technologist experience, preferred
  • Maintains current BLS.
