Patient Service Representative 

Description

A Patient Services Representative is responsible for auditing accounts; obtaining, verifying and entering insurance information prior to office visit or charge entry to ensure maximum and appropriate reimbursement. Contacting patients prior to date of service to inform them of any financial obligations or insurance concerns that will need to be addressed and/or corrected. Assisting patients in regards to account, insurance and billing questions; correcting accounts and refilling insurance as indicated. Researching accounts thoroughly and communicating with insurance companies and providers when needed. Greet patients; project a professional, patient centered image of the clinic.

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Ability to communicate well both written and orally.
  3. Ability to work with multiple departments.
  4. Knowledge of and/or experience with insurance, ICD-9 and CPT coding.
  5. Strong customer service skills.
  6. Organizational and time management skills.
  7. Knowledge of and/or experience with computer systems.
