Overview: As a Licensed Homestudy Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in our mission to support and assess families for adoption, kinship care, and foster homes. This position requires a dedicated and compassionate professional who is licensed to conduct homestudies, ensuring that families provide safe and nurturing environments for children in need. Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Homestudies:

    • Independently conduct thorough and comprehensive homestudies for prospective adoptive, kinship, and foster families.
    • Assess and evaluate applicants' suitability for providing a safe and supportive environment for children.
  2. Assessment and Documentation:

    • Gather information through interviews, home visits, and relevant documents to assess applicants' background, parenting skills, and capacity to meet the needs of children.
    • Complete detailed and accurate documentation of homestudy assessments in accordance with agency policies and legal requirements.
  3. Educate and Support Applicants:

    • Provide information and guidance to applicants on the homestudy process, requirements, and expectations.
    • Offer support and resources to help applicants navigate the preparation and approval process.
  4. Collaborate with Stakeholders:

    • Work collaboratively with case managers, legal professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each family's situation.
    • Attend case review meetings and court hearings as needed.
  5. Stay Informed on Regulations:

    • Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to adoption, kinship care, and foster homes.
    • Ensure that homestudies align with all legal requirements and standards.
  6. Crisis Intervention:

    • Provide crisis intervention and support services to families during the homestudy process as needed.
    • Collaborate with other professionals to address any challenges that may arise.
 
Position Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work.
  • Current and valid social work license.
  • Proven experience in conducting homestudies for adoption, kinship care, or foster homes.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and family structures.
