Job Summary
As the Manager, Promotions you will have an opportunity to connect the Pittsburgh Pirates brand to our fans and community. You will be a brand and culture ambassador who brings pride and optimism to our team.
This position is responsible for procuring, developing, and managing gameday promotional giveaways and select promotional events. This person will also research trends and industry benchmarking regarding giveaways and promotions. This role is also responsible for supporting the work of the Marketing and Fan Engagement teams.
Responsibilities
Primary:
- Organize and participate in the ideation process to plan the Pirates promotional calendar.
- Implement and execute a bid system for gameday giveaway and promotional items to ensure best pricing and quality.
- Initiate market research studies and analyze findings to build a fan-engaging promotional schedule.
- Utilize the internal Business Intelligence team to analyze ticket purchase patterns and attendance numbers for key promotional nights.
- Manage the yearly promotional budget.
- Collaborate with the Content and Creative team on development of item design and unique marketing executions to help sell key promo dates.
- Support gameday themes and specialty nights.
- All other duties assigned by supervisor.
Secondary:
- Support departmental efforts including, but not limited to, alumni events, advertising efforts and event coordination.
- Assist Pirates Charities, Marketing and Communications departments in all key organizational events and initiatives.

Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Management or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of marketing, promotions, and/or purchasing experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Desired:
- Experience with a professional sports team.
