All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Category Athletics   Description Looking for Counselors for our February, April and Summer Splash Camps Job Summary: The Splash Camp Counselor will ensure the safety and supervision of all assigned campers while preparing and leading a variety of age appropriate activities.   Duties/Responsibilities: Ensure a group of assigned campers is supervised and safe Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques Prepare and lead a variety of activities that are age-appropriate Model good behavior for campers as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, and safety. Facilitate and encourage participation in camp activities Interact with parents in a professional and polite manner Ensure camping site is clean Utilize the payroll system to track and submit hours in a timely manner Performs first aid following prescribed procedures and contacts emergency medical personnel when required by the situation.   Position Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and lead activities for large groups of children Enthusiastic and positive attitude. Excellent communication skills. Ability to learn and enforce the camps safety and operating rules. Must attend staff meetings and orientation during the splash camp season. Education and Experience: Some experience supervising and working with children, preferably as a camp counselor First aid and CPR certified preferred ( We can offer training ) Physical and Schedule Requirements: General mobility including, but not limited, to walking, kneeling, swimming, and standing Able to participate in games, sports, and physical activities including water-based games and activities. Able to maintain attention and high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time.
