Exhibition Design Intern, Summer 2024 (Gold Rising)

Job Summary:

The Exhibition Design Intern will support the Exhibition Design department in representing concepts and exploring design solutions.

This is a limited term internship position beginning in June 2024 through August 2024. The hourly wage for this role is $16.78.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Basic drafting in 2D and 3D software to assist designers with gallery drawings and exhibition layouts.
  • Produce renderings, diagrams, presentations, or 3D models to communicate design ideas.
  • Create construction drawings to communicate with Fabrication and Construction teams.
  • Prepare scale models, paint, material samples and mock-ups.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Community college, trade school, and university undergraduate or graduate students from the class of 2024 or 2025 in good academic standing majoring in architecture, interior design, museum studies, or related field.
  • A minimum of 2.8 GPA.
  • Proficiency in CAD or Vectorworks, Rhino, Adobe Suite.
  • Excellent model making and technical drawing skills.
  • Possess general understanding of construction technologies.

This internship is part of the Academy’s Gold Rising program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
