Production Assistant

Description

 

1. Accurately weighs materials for the batches to the specific formulations.

2. Examines and restocks the different materials used in the batch weighing process

3. Timely locates, distributes and transact (IQMS) materials to weighing area to avoid any production interruption.

4. Wears the required PPE, and when batch weighing materials uses N95 mask and latex gloves.

5 Assist with operating the kneader line when processing batches. This includes, operating bucket conveyer to the extruder, guiding material onto the mill, guiding material into the sheet line and stacking sheets at the end.

6. Accurately weighs out sheets and places them into the large compression molding machine auto loader.

7. Operates compression molding machines and assist with transferring foam bunt onto the cooling conveyer. 

8. Inspect the bunt for size, color and visual acceptance.

9. Utilizes special tools available to aid in moving materials safely from one process to the other.

10. Cleans and maintains work area and equipment and assists in maintaining organization throughout the foaming area.

11. Assists with skiving bunts to the desires thickness.  

12. Documents machine process information in the run file.

12. Operates Wabash and Dah Tyan compression molding machine to satisfy orders. This includes, weighing sheets to specification, inserting sheets in mold and retrieving bunt once cycle is complete.

13. Actively assists in maintaining production goals and ISO expectations.

14. Safely operates the forklift to various work and storage areas in the delivery and storage of materials, packaging, and finished goods.

15. Offers suggestions for productivity improvement and work flow processes.

16. Maybe cross trained or assigned other subassemblies duties as needed.

 
Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED preferred; and 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Software Knowledge: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Internet software; IQMS Inventory software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A successfull completion and valid license is required for the following: Forklift Driver Certification

Other Skills and Abilities: Must be self motivated and possess the ability to make decisions. Must be able to professionally handle stressful situations and demonstrate teamwork.
