Billing Coordinator

Position Summary
All applicants MUST have an understanding of accounts receivable (A/R) in a dental setting. This includes detailed knowledge of dental insurance, submitting claims, managing & reconciling EOBs to post payments, and overall proficiency with the dental revenue cycle. Efficient time-management and prioritization skills helpful and be coachable with a desire to learn and grow; with an ability to adapt and overcome challenges. WINOMS/Carestream experience a plus. Must enjoy working with people and being able to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining focus. Job requires excellent computer and phone skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Work efficiently within dental practice management software systems
• Review claims for accuracy, submit electronic claims & post insurance payments
• Responsible for reaching out to insurance for follow up on outstanding claims
• Collect, post and manage patient account payments
• Review patient A/R, and make collection calls on outstanding accounts
• Reconcile EFT deposits within the bank account
• Initiate & track refunds through process
• Balance out payments at the end of day
• Responding to customer questions and resolving issues
• Clerical functions such as billing, estimates, monthly statements, etc.
• Assist other staff in any billing/coding related issues
• Knowledge of medical/dental/oral surgery terminology

Required Skills & Abilities:
• Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills required.
• Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, as well as knowledge of laws and policies related to debt collection.

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or relevant field (preferred)
• ICD-10: 1 year (preferred)
• Dental or related experience: 1 year (preferred)
• Medical Billing experience: 1 year (required)

• Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
