Share Email Opening Title Video Producer, Part-Time  Description The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, digital experiences, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Reporting to the VP, Digital Content and Strategy, the Video Producer will work with museum staff, on-site talent, and other stakeholders across the organization and produce videos for the museum’s digital platforms and archives. In coordination with the VP, Digital Content and Strategy, you will define the scope and deliverables of each production project and independently manage productions from inception through post-production and digital asset documentation. This position will be represented by a union. You Will: Work with museum staff across various departments on video projects that may include program documentation, interviews, exhibition, and museum related storytelling. Respond to video requests submitted through ticketing sites and coordinates production with relevant stakeholders. Estimate production requirements (including equipment and crew), evaluate copyright requirements and coordinates licensing agreements, and obtain and document talent release forms. Direct video productions ranging from single-camera productions to multi-camera field and studio productions. This includes interacting with and guiding internal stakeholders, subjects/talent, and others through the production process. Operate and/or directs the operation of professional cameras, audio equipment, lighting equipment and related equipment to effectively record a variety of program materials; recommend minor and/or major production changes to obtain the most appropriate and effective materials. Edit and/or direct the editing of recorded video, audio, and other materials to meet time, aesthetic, ethical and broadcast quality standards; create and/or guide the creation of graphics and soundtracks; operates and/or oversee the operation of a variety of post-production equipment including nonlinear computer-based editing systems, tapeless devices, and video/audio interfaces; Operate and/or oversee the use of a variety of post-production software applications for video editing, audio editing, graphics creation, compositing, compressing, encoding/transcoding and captioning. Create and document deliverables, such as master files for preservation following the museum’s guidelines on archiving of video assets for short- and long-term storage and access. Manage the maintenance and organization of video production equipment (updates inventory list) and post-production equipment, hard drives, and software; research, request, and implement new video production technologies. In advance of video productions, coordinate with stakeholders on production schedule, locations, and equipment; ensure proper operation of equipment required and tests or oversees the testing of cameras, tapeless media, microphones, lights, video monitors and related equipment. Deliver video assets and related materials for a variety of distribution channels. Perform other related duties as assigned.   Position Requirements You Have: A bachelor’s degree in film/Video Production, Journalism, Television Production, Media Arts, or related area. Experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement. 5+ years of experience producing educational or documentary videos in a collaborative environment is required which includes organizing, managing and scheduling productions, operating video production equipment, planning and executing postproduction. Extensive proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, Aftereffects, Photoshop; proficiency in MS Office Suite. Strong communication and people skills. Independent problem solving and project management. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law.
