Description

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) seeks a solutions-oriented, intellectually curious candidate with superior attention to detail and organizational skills to help scale the programs and services offered to OFN member community development financial institutions (CDFIs) so that they have access to the tools, skills, and expertise needed to accelerate greater economic impact in rural, urban, and Native communities.

The Associate, Program Operations will be a key member of OFN’s growing Development Services team. They will be responsible for providing program operations support to facilitate the activities of the Development Services team, which includes virtual and in-person trainings, webinars, peer learning communities, development of a practitioner resource library and event content, and management of CDFI Connect, an online networking and knowledge sharing community. Through these activities, the Associate, Development Services will have the opportunity to develop their project management and content development skills while supporting the production of high-quality, practitioner-centered events and resources to help build the organizational capacity of member CDFIs.

This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative, logistical, and operational support to execute virtual and in-person trainings, as well as other activities of the Development Services team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing, assembling, and shipping training materials; assisting with on-site support and execution of D.C.-based trainings; organizing and communicating logistical information with attendees; creating training evaluations; and synthesizing information from evaluations to contribute to continuous improvement of trainings.

  • Utilize and build expertise with a variety of digital platforms, including Cvent, Zoom, and Salesforce, to facilitate the activities of the Development Services team, such as assisting with the development and management of event registration websites.

  • Provide high-quality customer service by responding to inquiries, via email and phone, from members, event/training attendees, and other stakeholders efficiently, professionally, and effectively.

  • Assist with the coordination and management of peer learning communities for OFN members and CDFI practitioners more broadly.

  • Support ongoing platform maintenance and community management of CDFI Connect—an online networking and knowledge-sharing community for the CDFI industry—to maintain quality discussions and user experiences on the site.

  • Contribute to the writing and development of content as needed, e.g., by assisting with conducting research and analysis to support the creation of content and services for CDFI practitioners, drawing from publications, stakeholder meetings, calls, events, online forums, datasets, and other forms of desk research.

  • Assist with other Development Services activities as requested.

 
Position Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of direct professional work experience in lieu of degree.

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in project/event management, operations, or community development.

  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and precision in execution.

  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn how to utilize digital tools and platforms such as Cvent, Zoom, and Salesforce.

  • Customer-focused mindset and solution-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering a positive experience.

  • Curiosity and commitment to learning, ideally with an interest in community development, financial institutions, nonprofits, and economic and social justice.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required with emphasis on clarity, conciseness, relevance, and the ability to appropriately adjust for different audiences.

  • Self-starter with experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects, assignments, and meeting tight deadlines.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving needs and work collaboratively and flexibly within a dynamic team to support the overall success of events, trainings, and programs.

  • Comfort working in a small-office environment and/or experience working in a nonprofit environment preferred.

  • Light travel required (<5% of time)

  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
