Description

The Credentialing Specialist processes initial and recredentialing/reappointment documents for all MCN providers, including physicians, neuropsychologists, advanced practice providers and rehabilitation therapists. Works with HR to ensure all forms and information are collected from providers during initial onboarding process. Works with providers to complete paperwork for submission to hospitals, insurance payors and other credentialing entities. Tracks renewal dates to ensure providers maintain board certifications, DEA licenses, medical licenses and the like as well as hospital and/or insurance requirements. Communicates regular updates to providers, administration and staff; also communicates regularly with representatives from hospitals/health systems and insurance companies. Prepares invoices/requests payment for provider medical dues. Works with members of the Patient Financial Services department to investigate/resolve issues related to credentialing denials. Serves as point-person for payor websites, setting up staff access and problem-solving issues as they arise. This position is a member of the Human Resources team and works very independently and without close supervision. Depending upon the individual, remote work may be available; but must reside in the Twin Cities metro area.

 
Position Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent required; business school or some college coursework desired. Must possess a minimum of two years of experience in provider credentialing/enrollment including with insurance payers, hospitals and other facilities. Must be highly attentive to detail and accuracy and have exceptional organizational and multitasking skills. Must possess excellent communication skills essential for phone and written communications with MCN providers and staff as well as outside entities including hospital and insurance company representatives. Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and troubleshoot and resolve problems. Ability to work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions. Must be able to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion. Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel, use of the Internet as well as experience with electronic health record (Epic preferred).
