Description

We are looking for an Off- Shift Operations Manager to motivate and lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and KPI driven efficiencies. This position will require assessing current processes and developing a continuous improvement culture throughout the department.

Desirable candidates must be highly interactive, solutions-oriented & able to lead a team in a high-volume production/shipping environment. In addition, this person must be hands-on and willing to go from ensuring front office documentation processes are complete to motivating and working alongside their teams on the floor.

Specific Duties:

  • Holding employees accountable to safety, quality, and delivery standards
  •  Work Closely with First shift operations, Receiving, and warehousing to streamline and improve processes
  • Review upcoming schedules and ensure lines are ready to effectively and efficently meet production needs
  • Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to deliver process improvements, lean strategies, and best practices in the areas of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 6S, etc.
  • Ability to Forsee production issues before they arise and address as needed
  • Develop skills for quick visualization of potential isusues and resolve in order to maintain safety, productivity, and quality
  • Check/QA door units being produced
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly maintenance procedures for all production equipment are performend
  • Check throughout the day for Fast Tracks or other orders needing expediting
  • Fill in as needed to cover open spot and help team accomplish daily tasks
  • Ensure Phsycial security of facility
  • Assist with filling priority orders by utilizing ERP softwarre, pulling materials, operating assembly machines, and loading of trucks.
  • Responsible for quality of materials loaded and making corrections as necessary
  • Ensure readiness of drivers paperwork
  • Ensure materials on Trucks are loaded in a manner which eliminates damage due to transport
  • Ensure that all quality measures are in place and consistently tested to meet standards.
  • Create a team environment of employee engagement
  • Lead a change in culture to “We Make it Happen” and “Bring it On.”
  • Ensure a “safety first” work environment with employee buy in.
  • Continually recruit and evaluate employees to establish the best, most engaged staff.
  • Identify issues and problems and implement sustainable corrective actions.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Willing to train and work on first shift (initially during training phase) and then transition to second shift 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully facilitate cross-functional projects in a team-based environment
  • Capable of collaborating with multiple teams in the company to resolve problems for the greater good
  • Experience leading organizational change management initiatives
  • Acts as a coach/mentor to develop and motivate their teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong positive relationships with vendors, customers, field, and DC team members
  • Strong attention to detail and solid analytical skills
  • Show ownership of issues and responsibilities/impliemtns sustainable corrective actions as needed
  • Computer and tech skills required (Microsoft office Suit, ERP, etc)
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
