Description

Hui Huliau Staffing LLC an entity of Hui Huliau is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to complete the Hui Huliau support team of professionals in Florida. This is a remote position. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day functions of the HR department for all entities within Hui Huliau.
  • Prepares internal employee communications regarding such matters as compensation, benefits, or company policies.
  • Interpret and administer company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and creates HR Department standard operating procedures.
  • Manage and administer the Health & Welfare plans, working with employees and vendors on enrolling employees; to include the annual benefit open enrollment.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and out-processing functions.
  • Conduct exit interview surveys and recommend corrective action if necessary.
  • Assists in employee relations investigations and counseling.
  • Assists in preparing and submitting the EEO-1, Vets-4212, Affirmative Action Plan, 5500 filings and other compliance reporting.
  • Track and maintain HR Metrics i.e., headcount, turnover, diversity, compensation.
  • Point of Contact for FMLA, ADA, and disability claim requests and administration.
  • Process Unemployment and Workers Compensation claims.
  • Respond to requests for employment verifications and other employee requests for information.
  • Assist with recruitment activities as needed.
  • Manage Employee Training Program
  • Coach and counsel managers and employees on employee relations issues.
  • Assist with employee communications and presenting of such materials, i.e., meetings, trainings, employee events.
  • Must be flexible for other HR or administrative duties as assigned.

Necessary Skills:

  • Strong verbal/written communication abilities; effective interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong follow up skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
  • Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and human resources software.
  • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.

The position will be performed onsite Tuesday through Thursday and remote Monday and Friday and will generally encompass a standard workweek spanning Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

Position Requirements

Required Experience / Education:

  • B.A. Degree either in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Professional HR Certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience with understanding of Federal Professional Services Marketplace.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws to include: EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ACA and HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of 401(K) and benefits plans and administrative procedures.
  • Knowledge of payroll practices.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably CostPoint and Paychex.
  • Experience with a union workforce preferably.

Essential Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Predominantly Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office or home office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
  • Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
