Description

The Accounting Intern provides accounting support within the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) Finance department, primarily Accounts Payable. The overall responsibilities are day-to-day assist accounts payable processing as well as various accounting projects, while ensuring policies and procedures are being adhered to. The Accounting Intern will also help support the Finance team as needed.

Essential Functions:

Assist Accounts Payable – Tipalti (70%)

  • Assist with various Accounts Payable Projects such as SOP, Sales Tax etc.
  • Assist Accounts Payable functions as it relates to Tipalti Invoice Processing System

Concur - (15%)

  • Assist with various Expense Related Processes and Functions
  • Assist with creations of Concur SOP/SharePoint

Miscellaneous - (15%)

  • Assist other Finance (AR/Payroll/Budget) functions as needed.
  • Assist with any Admin Project as needed.
 
Position Requirements
  • At least a Junior in College in Accounting or Finance Major and have successfully taken a few Accounting Classes with a basic understanding of Accounting/Finance functions and processes.
  • A commitment to learn and practice Accounting to successfully support Finance Department as it helps food growing goals at CAFB.
  • Proficiency with basic computer software programs (including MS Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.

  • Accounts Payable and Budget Manager

Schedule:

  • Regular office hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Approximately 20 hours a week, final schedule to be determined by manager and candidate

Compensation:

  • Compensation is $17.00/hour
