We offer an inspiring, inclusive, innovative, and collaborative work environment with competitive compensation and benefit packages and programs that support ongoing learning and professional growth.  The Position: Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a permanent part-time Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Hospital-based pharmacy team. The registered pharmacy technician is responsible for performing the technical tasks related to safe and effective drug distribution in the hospital. This is a 0.4 FTE position (scheduled for 15 hours/week), with the possibility of additional casual hours (not guaranteed). Why join our team? Standard Monday to Friday schedule, with no evening or weekend hours with the exception of limited on-call schedule  Specialized practice working with pediatric population in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting using cutting edge technology Learn more about the Pharmacy and team here: https://foundation.hollandbloorview.ca/stories-news-events/stories/20-pharmacy-facts Key Responsibilities: Provides safe and efficient unit dose drug distribution services, in collaboration with the clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals (cart fills, leave of absences, etc.) Repackages solid and liquid unit doses, including narcotic, controlled, and hazardous drugs Maintains medications stocked in client care areas, including ward stock, night cart, and emergency carts Prepares specialized extemporaneous preparations of different dosage forms essential to pediatric practice as per established formulas Performs all duties related to procurement of pharmaceuticals, including purchasing, inventory management, and returns or destruction Documents daily/monthly workload statistics Contributes to the training and ongoing support of Pharmacy Technician Students, as required Provides administrative support to the department and participates in departmental projects Participates in the medication reconciliation process, and other patient safety initiatives Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment. Qualifications: Completion of a recognized college level Pharmacy Technician Program accredited by The Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) or equivalent Licensure as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) with Ontario College of Pharmacists is preferred Hospital experience with a computerized unit dose drug distribution service preferred Excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills coupled with a strong customer service orientation Demonstrated ability to work both independently, and in a team environment.
