Bolton & Menk is growing, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Design Engineer to join our Raleigh team! For over 30 years, our Charlotte and Raleigh civil engineering and landscape architecture professionals have teamed on more than 5,500 projects. Every project team is set up in a cross-disciplinary studio with engineers and designers working side-by-side from site analysis through construction administration.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform basic design, computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
- Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on projects.
- Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take-off estimates.
- Construction observation activities may include performing construction staking, performing construction administration duties such as documenting activities, measuring and testing, providing general oversight, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents, and City staff.
- As a Design Engineer you will learn practical on-the-job experience serving our clients
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
- Certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or able to obtain within 12 months of hire
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
- Knowledge of technical software such as HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD preferred.
- Working knowledge of site-related design.
- Experience in land/site development required.
- Able to apply civil engineering concepts to problem solving involving site design issues.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Well organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
