Share Email Opening Title Aquatic Custodian   Description JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Aquatic Manager, the Assistant Aquatic Manager, and the Manager on Duty, this position is responsible for the cleanliness and minor repairs at Pelican Harbor Indoor Aquatic Park     Position Aquatic Custodian   Position Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING Must be at least 16 years of age CPR and First Aid certified or willing to become certified KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES General knowledge of cleaning General knowledge of tools Must be able to work with the public and other staff in a professional manner Ability to follow written and verbal directions Ability to establish a positive rapport by using tact and discretion with participants, parents and staff A strong knowledge of customer service philosophies and practices DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Complete daily cleaning schedules Empty garbage cans whenever they become ¾ of the way full Responsible for daily up-keep of facility  Keep facility clean at all times Assist full time maintenance staff whenever necessary Provide excellent customer service following Bolingbrook Park District guidelines at all times Respond to and report all unsafe conditions to the Head Lifeguard, Aquatic Manager, Assistant Aquatic Manager or Manager on Duty Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance while on duty Any other duties deemed necessary by the Head Lifeguard, Aquatic Manager, Assistant Aquatic Manager or the Manager on Duty Abide by the Bolingbrook Park District dress code for your area Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District’s safety program. Work as a Team Player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Talking/Hearing: to communicate with staff and public Seeing: to observe pool operations; to obtain information from written material Standing: while performing tasks Walking: while inspecting pool features and to clean areas Reaching: to retrieve items from shelves and wipe down furniture Pulling: to move hoses and deck furniture Pushing: to move hoses and deck furniture, to use broom Stooping: to retrieve objects at lower levels; to put supplies away, to clean lower areas Crouching: to retrieve objects at lower levels; to put supplies away Lifting: to put supplies away and move deck furniture COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS Must have ability to read, write and organize materials. Must be able to relate to other people in a professional manner.  Must exhibit good safety awareness and judgment FLSA This is a part time, hourly position HOURS The aquatic park is open 7 days a week and hours include evenings and weekends.  Schedules will vary and be set by the Aquatic Manager or Asst.
