JOB SUMMARY

Under supervision of the Aquatic Manager, Assistant Aquatic Manager, Manager on Duty or Admissions Coordinator; the Admission Staff are responsible for cash control and daily admission of patrons at Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be CPR certified or willing to become certified
  • Must have cash handling experience or a minimum of 3 years with the District in other capacities
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated skills in the proper handling of money
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with computer operations and use
  • Must be able to work with the public and other staff in a professional manner
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Ability to establish a positive rapport by using tact and discretion with participants, parents and staff
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent customer service following Bolingbrook Park District guidelines at all times.
  • Respond to and report all unsafe conditions to the Aquatic Manager or Manager on Duty.
  • Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance while on duty.
  • Fill out daily record sheets correctly and completely.
  • Admit patrons into facility.
  • Keep an accurate drawer and turn in accurate deposits.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Aquatic Manager or Manager on Duty.
  • Abide by the Bolingbrook Park District dress code for your area
  • Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District’s safety program.
  • Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Counting: to count money

Writing: to fill out daily records

Talking/Hearing: to communicate with staff and public

Seeing: to obtain information from written material; count money; process payment on computer

Standing:  while performing tasks and for serving customers for long periods of time

Reaching: to retrieve items from shelves and at payment window

Pulling: to open drawers, to move supplies

Pushing: to close drawers, buttons on cash register, to move supplies

Stooping: to retrieve objects at lower levels; to put supplies away

Crouching: to retrieve objects at lower levels; to put supplies away

Lifting: to put supplies away

COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS

Must have ability to read, write and organize materials. Must be able to relate to other people in a professional manner.  Must exhibit good safety awareness and judgment.

FLSA

This is a seasonal hourly, non-exempt position

HOURS

The aquatic park is open 7 days a week and hours include evenings and weekends.  Schedules will vary and be set by the Aquatic Manager.
