Description

SALARY: $15.6938 Hour / 28 Hour Week Max

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Six (6) months experience performing home repair and/or weatherization work; must have a valid driver’s license, must become BPI certified as a retrofit installer within 12 months.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Perform skilled duties in the Home Maintenance department and the GCCARD Building/Grounds Maintenance Department such as carpentry, building repairs and maintenance services. Have the ability to work individually or as part of a team under close supervision; performs related duties as required.

STATEMENT OF TASKS:

  • Perform skilled tasks in carpentry, woodworking, painting, installing insulation in attics and crawl spaces;
  • Perform lawn and building maintenance, trash removal and repairs;
  • Perform warehouse related duties as needed;
  • Assist in the installation of energy saving measures as directed;
  • Participate in on the job training as required;
  • Prepare work sites including handling of materials, supplies, equipment and tools;
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas as well as keeping tools, vehicles and equipment in an orderly manner.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to attend work regularly and work under stressful conditions;
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects 70 plus lbs. (ladders, equipment, etc.);
  • Knowledge and ability to operate the power equipment used in the construction and warehouse trades, including minor repair of such equipment;
  • Ability to prepare and maintain required records and reports within the department;
  • Ability to plan and prioritize production based activities;
  • Ability to learn weatherization techniques, methods and procedures;
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in written form;
  • Ability to relate to economically disadvantaged persons;
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships;
  • Ability to enter and move around in confined spaces;
  • Ability to become lead safe, fork truck and retrofitting installer certified;
  • Ability to wear and use all necessary safety equipment;
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively and respectfully in a complex, multicultural work environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion.
