Description

Fills orders from the warehouses, receives, inventories, and inspects food and non-food items. This position performs general warehouse duties, such as operating forklift equipment, the loading, and unloading, of trucks. The Warehouse Associate maintains the cleanliness of the distribution center by following company sanitation and food safety guidelines.

Essential Functions:

  • Requires traveling between two warehouses Nova 1 and Nova 2
  • Accurately pulls and stages all agency orders from the distribution center inventory.
  • Meets cases per hour goal as established by the manager.
  • Requires the routine operation of warehouse equipment, participation in general distribution center maintenance, sanitation, and abidance to all company rules and regulations pertaining to operations.
  • Provides prompt and accurate customer service to member agencies by filling out orders from the warehouse in a timely manner.
  • Interfaces with agency representatives or internal staff regarding order filling problems or questions.
  • Assists with operations by helping load and unload trucks, tagging and marking product as it arrives, placing inventory in facility and rotating stock to ensure product quality.
  • Safely operates selected equipment such as a Forklift and Pallet Jack, which includes routine maintenance on specific equipment as directed by the Distribution Center Manager.
  • Reports any safety issues or warehouse equipment problems to a manager.
  • Maintains high level of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the building, freezer and refrigerator includes sweeping and washing floors, attending to the locker room, routine cleaning of the freezer and refrigerator, and emptying trash cans in their department.
  • Adheres to all practices and company procedures that relate to food safety, pest control and security.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory as needed.
  • Assist in Agency pick-up orders
  • Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Always wear all required safety equipment.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties or other areas of the facility as needed.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
 
Position Requirements
  • HS diploma or GED
  • 1 – 2 yrs. exp. in a warehouse-related environment
  • Ability to operate forklift equipment in a safe manner with a valid forklift license.

Work Environment:

  • This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
  • Will perform Duties 75% of time in Nova 1, and 25% of time at Nova 2.
  • Area contains moving forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Frequent exposure to changes in temperature conditions.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
