Job Summary

The Director of Culturally Diverse Sales is responsible for in-market articulation and implementation of national, regional and local brand-marketing strategies related to key culturally diverse consumers. He or she will ensure marketing plans are strategically aligned and contribute to the achievement of Domestic Marketing’s annual goals and initiatives.

This position reports to the SVP / Head of Culturally Diverse Markets and works closely with the Channel Heads (NMO, General Agent and Bank, Broker/Dealer and Wirehouses), as well as the Regional Sales Directors to ensure alignment across the distribution channels and with the corporate marketing organization.

Essential Functions

  • Identifying national market culturally diverse sales opportunities in order to execute culturally relevant marketing plans and increase sales within the different distribution channels.
  • Developing national culturally diverse marketing plans that are consistent with corporate brand-marketing strategies.
  • Ensuring programs contribute to brand health, while providing sales with the selling tools needed to outperform the competition in key markets.
  • Effectively manage the budget; communicate programs to distributors; evaluate execution and provide feedback to the marketing organization.
  • Developing key culturally diverse marketing alliances and overseeing special events.
  • Able to persuade and influence effectively
  • Culturally astute and able to understand unique aspects of marketing to groups with diverse needs and preferences
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity
  • Ability to recognize critical problems and opportunities
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Fluency in Mandarin is required.
  • Fluency in Cantonese or other languages is a plus.
  • 8 or more years with culturally diverse Marketing and/or business
  • Creativity and ability to be a problem solver
  • Flexibility in work schedules
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • A strong understanding of business practices and industry trends
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Communications or other relevant field and 8+ years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Prior insurance experience is required

 

Licenses & Certifications

  • CLU, CFP, or ChFC desirable

 

Supervision & Leadership

  • This position does not require supervisory responsibilities

 

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required. Overtime may be required at peak times.
