JOB Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Manager role includes the procurement of telematics related hardware and software. This role is responsible for partnering with and supporting the Product Management and Customer Success and is responsible for executing strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management initiatives across all FleetPulse suppliers and partners.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science from an accredited Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent engineering program is required.
Certifications/Licenses: Candidates with certifications like Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are given preference
Years of Experience: 8-12 years in strategic sourcing with an emphasis on telematics (hardware - I/O devices, sensors, wiring harnesses and software)
Essential Functions
- Provide purchasing leadership to key partners across the business
- Monitor and report on the progress of negotiations to key business partners
- Travel to Fleetpulse customer and strategic partner locations in support Supply Chain activities.
- Investigate and implement new procurement strategies and logistical opportunities.
- Investigate and implement new technologies related to telematics, autonomous vehicles and electrification.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, organizational policies and business requirements are met, collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement negotiation strategies.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
- Travel to supplier locations to evaluate capabilities, assess production readiness, investigate new opportunities, improve manufacturing efficiencies, and resolve chronic supply and quality issues.
- Capture commodity market data and create comprehensive market and supplier summaries to inform sourcing strategies.
- Track commodity shortages, price increases, Force Majeures, and other events to ensure supply continuity.
