Major responsibilities include (not all inclusive): Manage all aspects of the Personal Financial Readiness Services (PFR). Offer information, education, and personal financial counseling to help Military, individuals and families maintain family readiness. Provide foundations at the beginning of Military’s career and develop throughout career to improve financial literacy. Provide mandatory touchpoints for financial readiness to include first duty station training, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) vesting, continuation pay, transition, change of station, pre/post deployment, marriage, divorce, birth of first child, disabling sickness or condition, subsequent duty station, lump sum eligibility and promotion IAW DAFI 36-3009. Maintain currency with the latest innovations and programs from the civil and military sectors and integrate into the current offerings. Assist members with establishing an extended absence financial plan for extended deployments when requested. Provide basic financial skills, savings and investing for future goals, consumer issues briefings, ancillary workshops, and referrals for home buying, selling, renting, tax implications and shipment/storage of household goods. Provide assistance identifying and resolving potential violations of consumer rights and remedies available, including referral to appropriate authorities for reporting and further assistance. Centers should assist with a personal financial analysis for parent seeking a childcare hardship waiver (fee reduction). A recommendation of approval or disapproval is not required of Military & Family Readiness staff. Act as the installation-level administrator for the myVECTOR Financial Readiness Dashboard (or it’s replacement). Provide monthly status reports (CDRL 0108) through the Flight Chief to the FSS Commander. Serve as the focal point to ensure Unit Administrators are assigned. Work with units and Unit Commanders to ensure each unit assigns a Unit Administrator. Manage all aspects of the Volunteer Resource Services program. Assist the installation commander and collaborate with other base volunteer agencies, for the purpose of, referring Airmen, spouses, and other family members for volunteer opportunities IAW DoDI 1100.21. Administer the Volunteer Excellence Award Program. Announce volunteer opportunities. IAW DAFI 36-3009, Service Member, Family Data Card, volunteer data or service records, may be locally developed, to meet mission requirements. Centers must document volunteer hours when reported in AFFIRST. Skills / Certifications: Baccalaureate Degree with 30 CEU Bi-Annually National Certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor upon hire and remaining of the contract Qualifications: Position requires a favorably adjudicated National Agency with Inquires (NACI) Tier 1 or T1 Background Investigation.
