Level of Education High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred.90 hour Early Childhood Education certificate required.

Position Summary: The Infant/Toddler teacher is responsible for the day-to-day care of toddlers in the classroom. The teacher plans creative, educational, fun activities for them as well as addresses their basic needs..

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engages parents, and provides nurturing and comfort to children.
  • Creates and implements weekly lesson plans for toddlers.
  • Ensures cleanliness, proper arrangement, organization and stimulation in indoor/outdoor play areas.
  • Writes daily reports to parents detailing sleeping, eating and diapering activities for the day.
  • Ensures that parents sign their children in and out of childcare using the form provided.
  • Tracks inventory of toddler age appropriate toys and educational materials and informs the Director when supplies are low.
  • Assists in the sorting, storage and distribution of children’s program donations.
  • Participates in relationship-based practice and reflective supervision.
  • Attends and participates in weekly staff meetings and trainings appropriate to this position.
  • Enroll in the Maryland State Child Care Credentialing Program, complete 12 hours of continuing education a year following the state guidelines and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
