About the Organization Cornerstone Energy Services, Inc. provides engineering, survey and land services to the energy infrastructure marketplace. We provide a broad range of services critical to the initial phases of projects, right through completion and documentation. These services include: process, civil, mechanical and I&E engineering, project management, survey and mapping, and Right-of-Way acquisition. We have expertise and experience in both long linear projects as well as single-site facilities. Our clients are developers and operators of oil and gas pipelines and electric transmission lines.

Position Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Prepare calculations, schematic designs, layouts, reports, etc. for energy infrastructure projects involving oil, gas, LNG, CNG, and propane systems and equipment.
  • Exercise discretion and judgment and apply engineering principles to meet project challenges.
  • Contribute to teams that help clients meet the challenges of energy delivery system operation and development.
  • Utilize various computer programs for data and information gathering, formula calculations, various studies and report generating and prepares written reports.
  • Attend client meetings - days or nights.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to plan and design project.
  • Project engineering that may include writing equipment specifications, sizing and evaluation of equipment, writing project reports, project scheduling, preparation of project cost estimates, the economic evaluation of projects, etc.
  • Demonstrates initiative on moderate problem solving within assigned tasks.
  • Works under the close supervision of more senior staff.
  • Progress toward engineer licensure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Duties are performed in office and field settings.
  • Office work may include prolonged seated tasks, extended keyboarding, and use of computer screen.
  • Field settings may include work outdoors and on construction sites during all weather conditions.
  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
  • Position may require travel (up to 90%); valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record required.

Physical requirements

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knows and applies basic engineering principles and practices and has the ability to apply them using discretion and judgement.
  • The ability to make simple drawing and technical computations.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
  • Excellent computer/internet skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Outlook are required.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, civil, electrical, survey, or mechanical engineering.
  • 0 – 3 years of experience.
  • EIT preferred but not required
