Prepare calculations, schematic designs, layouts, reports, etc. for energy infrastructure projects involving oil, gas, LNG, CNG, and propane systems and equipment. Exercise discretion and judgment and apply engineering principles to meet project challenges. Contribute to teams that help clients meet the challenges of energy delivery system operation and development. Utilize various computer programs for data and information gathering, formula calculations, various studies and report generating and prepares written reports. Attend client meetings - days or nights. Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to plan and design project. Project engineering that may include writing equipment specifications, sizing and evaluation of equipment, writing project reports, project scheduling, preparation of project cost estimates, the economic evaluation of projects, etc. Demonstrates initiative on moderate problem solving within assigned tasks. Works under the close supervision of more senior staff. Progress toward engineer licensure. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment Duties are performed in office and field settings. Office work may include prolonged seated tasks, extended keyboarding, and use of computer screen. Field settings may include work outdoors and on construction sites during all weather conditions. May be requested to work overtime and weekends. Position may require travel (up to 90%); valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record required. Physical requirements The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knows and applies basic engineering principles and practices and has the ability to apply them using discretion and judgement. The ability to make simple drawing and technical computations. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public. Excellent computer/internet skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Outlook are required. Experience and Education Bachelor’s degree in chemical, civil, electrical, survey, or mechanical engineering. 0 – 3 years of experience.
