Description

The Nurse Manager will provide direct oversight of day-to-day activities for all nursing and medical assistant staff. Duties and responsibilities include, and are not limited to ensuring adequate staff assignments to support the day-to-day operation of the nuclear medicine department and physician services. The Nurse Manager will work closely with the NSC Technical Director in ensuring all coverage and training needs are met for the nursing staff to appropriately provide support to the nuclear med department. The Nurse Manager will directly oversee the Medical Assistant Supervisor and ensure physician services are well-supported with the staffing, and medical supplies needed to operate efficiently.

This position would report directly to the Clinical Services Manager, and will be primarily located at NSC headquarters at 45 Research Way, Suite 105, East Setauket, NY.

Position Requirements
  • The Nurse Manager, RN will use organizational, clinical, communication and problem solving skills to assist in managing the patient workflow on a daily basis.
  • The Nurse Manager, RN will serve as a leader and clinical expert for the delivery of high-quality nursing care and provide direction in developing and maintaining optimal patient care standards in the clinical setting.
  • Obtains medical histories, performs clinical assessments, and reviews test results related to PET, echo, abdominal, and carotid testing.
  • Provides patient education about underlying medical condition.
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administers medications as necessary
  • Coordinates management of patient flow and staffing through continuous assessment of volume/acuity needs, utilizing resources available to assist in provision of appropriate staffing resources.
  • Assists in identifying expected outcomes to provide direction for continuity of care/department operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Competence with computerized health records
  • Ability to work with other medical professionals
  • Cardiology experience preferred.
  • Must be ACLS/BLS certification
  • Must have 3 years Nurse Manager, RN experience
  • 5 years of RN experience in a medical office setting.
