Job Title: Psychiatric & Neurologic Supervision and Collaboration Services for NPs and PAs

Location: Georgia, Louisiana, and Virgin Islands

Position Type: Telemed/Onsite

Availability: Hours TBD

Supervising/Collaborating Physician looking for NPs and PAs who are in need of collaboration services.

Essential Job Functions:Collaborating Physician

  • The Physician shall provide supervision for the management of psychiatric disorders, as well as provide consultation and/or referral resource information for complex psychiatric issues.
  • Methods of supervision and consultation include, but are not limited to, case presentation and review, monthly patient record reviews, diagnostic classification review, psychopharmacological agent category review, written performance evaluations, and direct observation.
  • The Physician shall review and may sign, the psychiatric evaluations and recommendations written by the NP/PA.
  • The Physician will review and sign all patients’ records who receive controlled substance prescriptions and, all routine labs ordered by the NP/PA if needed.
  • The Physician shall review appropriateness of the formulary annually.
  • The Physician shall be available to his/her supervisee directly by telephone, text, and/or email.
  • The Physician shall be a member of Company’s Ethics Committee.

 

Essential Job Functions:NP/PA

  • Demonstrates knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation and epidemiology of medical conditions.
  • Performs history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant and appropriate for age, gender and clinical problem.
  • Orders appropriate diagnostic studies and correctly interprets the results.
  • Utilizes critical thinking to synthesize and analyze collected data.
  • Develops, implements, evaluates and alters the plan of care as needed.
  • Manages general medical and surgical conditions based on knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities.
  • Counsels and educates patients and families.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to practice area.
  • Patient Care
  • Provides care that is patient and family centered, compassionate, appropriate and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness and treatment of disease throughout the lifespan.
  • Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team.
  • Incorporates the patient and family in care planning and treatment across settings.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients and families in navigating the health care system.
  • Document patient progress, treatment, follow-up and clinical outcomes using the electronic health record (EHR). Document in-person and telephone encounters in EHR and use the system to identify and reengage patients who may be lost to follow-up.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment.
  • Coordinate involvement of family/caregiver in client’s treatment
 
Position Requirements

Required Experience and Education:

Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia, Louisiana, and Virgin Islands by the applicable state Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
