Project Manager (Denver, CO)  

Description

Position Summary: Insure that all crews and management associates are following corporate safety policies at all times. Duties include managing critical path for all road projects, P&L responsibility for bringing projects in under budget. Will also prioritize all project related items and communicate with internal peers and external customers on issues and progress of projects. Responsible for contract production for pavement markings/traffic control and customer contact and relations. Will coordinate activities with estimating department with respect to capacity, critical path issues, and production plan

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Accomplish required work independently by gathering and organizing required information.
  • Schedule travel arrangements and hotel bookings for field employees as needed.
  • Organize, track and verify employee time records for job assignment and submit for approval.
  • Program phones and tablets with basic applications
  • General filing and record keeping for branch management team.
  • Review and prepare records and documents for Pavement Marking Manager and employees.
  • Input data accurately into various reports and spreadsheets
  • Provide support to other departments as needed.
  • Manage daily crew staffing and job scheduling.
  • Participate in interviewing candidates for positions.
  • Perform project planning duties including forecasting manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform inventory management duties including materials ordering and inventory control.

    Education, Experience and Skills Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Understanding of the financial aspects of job costing and “bid to actual results” including variance analysis.
  • Ability to schedule resources to maximize efficiencies.
  • Ability to assist with projecting revenue and costs based on backlog and bid pipeline.
  • Knowledgeable in branch specific Lines of Business; experience with unions and labor relations, where applicable
  • Understanding of the various equipment utilized within the scope of the operation.
  • Experience in planning and resource allocation for both people and equipment.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc. with ability to learn ERP system.
  • Must have excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Industry involvement through trade associations, coalitions with state DOT, or similar is desired.
  • Must have a good driving record and able to pass a background check and drug test.
