Position Summary

House of Ruth Maryland (HRM) is seeking a dynamic IT Manager to join our team, dedicated to supporting survivors of intimate partner violence. This key role involves overseeing IT operations, systems, and infrastructure to ensure the seamless functioning of critical technology systems in support of our mission. This Position is required to be Onsite but will have some flexibility for Hybrid work after probationary period.

Responsibilities:

  • System Oversight: Ensure proper functioning of HRM data servers, telephone systems, security, and copiers/printers.

  • Vendor Management: Oversee contracts with system and service providers to ensure service levels are met, managing and monitoring relevant metrics.

  • Network Management: Administer and manage network infrastructure, including security measures, daily maintenance, and improvements.

  • Connectivity Management: Manage fiber and data connectivity, including cloud-based applications and being the point of contact for leased/donated spaces.

  • Phone and Voicemail Systems: Maintain phone and voicemail systems, ensuring 24/7 critical hotline functionality.

  • Policy Development: Develop and communicate policies addressing security guidelines, compliance with VAWA Client Confidentiality, HIPAA, and PCI requirements.

  • User Management: Manage usernames and passwords for staff, ensuring high-level security for all information.

  • Budget and Advocacy: Collaborate on the development of the agency-wide IT budget, advocate for IT needs, and manage the IT budget within parameters.

  • Technology Trends: Stay current with technology trends, making recommendations for optimal network layout, applications usage, and technology integration.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with agency directors and program managers on technical requirements, budgets, timelines, and project tracking.

  • Training: Provide training to staff in basic computer skills, applications use, and equipment use, and raise awareness of security issues.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present technology status and assessment reports to the executive team on an ad hoc and semi-annual basis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, MIS preferred. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience required.

  • Certified Network Administrator (CNA) or Microsoft Certified Engineer (MCE) preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and MS Windows Operating Systems.

  • Strong technical skills in desktop support, copier/telephone/IT integration, and systems troubleshooting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems collaboratively.

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into layman’s terms in both verbal and written communications.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Understanding of the impact and issues of intimate partner violence.

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
