SUMMARY

Under the supervision and guidance of the assigned Lending Manager; coordinates the preparation of loan documents for closing consumer, commercial, and real estate loans to ensure full compliance and quality of documentation for funding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain strict privacy regarding customer account information. Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information confidential.
  2. Provide customers with exceptional customer service and executes operational excellence. In person: Greet every customer with a smile, maintain eye contact, call them by name, stay connected in conversation and let them know they are appreciated. When on the telephone: Speak with a smile, call them by name, stay connected in the conversation and let them know they are appreciated.
  3. Answer incoming telephone calls, resolve customer inquiries within prescribed authority, and when necessary direct calls to the appropriate loan officer or department. Constantly communicate and exchange information with internal and external customers effectively by answering questions in person or on telephone and refers customers to other bank services as necessary.
  4. Coordinates and organizes loan packages prior to documentation, working closely with lending staff to ensure approved and renewed loans are documented properly. Obtains credit reports on loan applicants, orders title work, UCC searches, appraisals, and other documents as needed.
  5. Extensive reading to review all loan documents to ensure they are complete & accurate according to the entity documentation, loan approvals and policies and procedures prior to CTC approval and borrower loan closing. Send complete loan package for booking ad record all appropriate collateral documents. Constantly identify these items for accuracy and determine how to resolve issues.
  6. Creates and maintains support loan files by working loan exception reports, photocopying pertinent documents, verifying insurance documents, and requesting missing documents.
  7. Disburse loan funds after closing and image loan documents within established timeline.
  8. Prepares correspondence, loan documents, forms, and statistical information. Intermediate mathematical aptitude and ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  9. Researches and prepares weekly past due loans and collateral exception reports, HMDA reporting, and quarterly criticized loan report
  10. Cross-sells bank products and services, coordinates meetings with other lines of business, and services the banking needs of the customer.
  11. Provides administrative support to Loan Officer by scheduling appointments, sorting, and distributing mail, receiving customers and visitors to the department, answering telephones, and taking messages. Supports and assists coworkers as needed.
  12. Assist Loan Officer in calling efforts to existing customers and prospects.
  13. Process new loan and renewals to ensure they are error free.  Verify accuracy in Bankway. 
  14. Process and update outstanding exception items on loans.
  15. Frequently address and correct transaction errors. Correct payments applied incorrectly in Bankway. Post payments to Bankway.  Amend loan information as needed.
  16. Verify and track loan documents in Bankway. Work daily tracking items and update Bankway as needed.
  17. Frequent scanning of documentation and verifying for accuracy. 
  18. Operate computer, keyboard, telephone, scanner, and copier. Strong computer skills including general knowledge in MS Office Outlook, typing, 10 key and the internet. Proficiency with internal bank software, FIS IS View and Loan Operations Platform will be required.
  19. Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on site and work cooperatively with other co-workers.
  20. Required to gain working regulatory knowledge including but not limited to: privacy, safeguarding customer information, Regulation B, Equal Credit Opportunity, Truth in Lending, CRA, HMDA, and flood regulations.
  21. Complete all on-line compliance Teal Training courses timely.
  22. Additional duties may be assigned or required by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS |EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE | SKILLS | MENTAL DEMANDS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Candidate must be at a minimum, 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Internal Applicants: 3–4 Years banking experience preferred
  • External Applicants and/or Additional Experience: 1 - 2 Years banking with working knowledge of full retail/csr process and/or previous loan experience Preferred.
  • Previous experience in general administrative skills which include keeping an office organized and running efficiently is preferred. Demonstrates excellent adaptability in the workplace  

Hours Required: Regularly Scheduled Hours / Week 40 hrs

From: Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm | Extended working hours may be required.

Physical Demands
The employee must possess sufficient mobility to work in and move about in a standard office setting and sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Substantial time may be spent on the telephone and working on a computer, sitting and/or standing. The employee must have the ability to hear and articulate well enough to carry on a normal conversation, both in person and over the telephone. Visual abilities required by this job include the ability to read materials in either a printed format or on a computer screen. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

Mental Demands
The duties of this position require the ability to maintain attention to detail and complete work projects accurately in a short amount of time, despite interruptions.
