Position Van Driver  
Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time  
Base Wage $14.78 per hour  

Rock Island Skip-a-Long Childhood Center, part of SAL Family and Community Services and the Quad Cities area’s leading provider of early childhood care and education, is seeking a part time Driver.

Within this role, you will do things like: 

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and hazard-free vehicle.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is never left unattended at any time while transporting children.
  • Ensure sanitary and safety procedures are followed by all adults and children.
  • Assist children on and off the vehicle if needed.
  • Ensure all vehicle paperwork is accessible and current such as registration, insurance, and accident protocol.
  • Ensure compliance of rules and regulations with the Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Identify, address, and ensure the proper maintenance of the vehicle is current and in good condition at all times.
  • Actively participate in required training and meetings.

Salary, benefits and perks:

  • First shift hours, Monday-Friday schedule, and no CDL is required!!



Must obtain background clearances, be able to complete physical tasks such as sit, stand, lift 50 pounds, and view children, have a clean driving record prior to hire and throughout employment have a valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance, be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma, and at least one year of experience driving a multi-passenger vehicle. Additional detail will be provided prior to an interview. Requests for reasonable accommodation as required under applicable law will be considered.
