Position Summary:

This position assists and works under the direction of the Facilities Manager in order to maintain the physical plant and buildings and grounds up keep. Also to increase customer service to staff and clients regarding building related maintenance issues. This position will also maintain multiple locations based upon need and season.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Key employee related to grounds maintenance. Including, but not limited to, lawn cutting and trimming, snow removal, tree pruning, flower and shrub area maintenance and general trash and debris clean up (external and internal).
  • Independently perform mechanical skills for building maintenance and repairs as directed by the Facilities Manager. Including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and appliance repair.
  • Work with team on room turnover and related maintenance issues in the 24-hour emergency shelter.
  • Maintain and utilize an array of power tools, hand tools and grounds equipment.
  • Provide back up to other operations staff in their absence.
  • Carry working cell phone or pager to allow for 24-hr emergency response.
  • Function as ‘essential staff’ during weather and other emergencies.
  • Assist in general receiving of deliveries when assigned or when assistance needed to move deliveries from one facility to another.
  • Other duties as assigned.
