Share Email Opening Title Residential Operations Manager  Position Residential Operations Manager   Location Weinberg   Department Shelter Services   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Job Type Regular   Level of Education AA Degree or High School Diploma ;GED   Shift Days   Description Position Summary: The Residential Operations Manager is an essential staff position responsible for the operations of HRM’s 24/7 Emergency Shelter and Hotel program, ensuring a positive experience for the participants temporarily living in these Residential Programs. This position is responsible for overseeing day to day Residential operations including the overall appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance of the Residential Program; material goods inventory, control, and distribution; healthy and safe functioning of the kitchen; and liaising with residents to ensure they feel comfortable and to help resolve conflict. Because residents are traumatized by intimate partner/sexual violence, the sudden experience of homelessness, and may have unrelated trauma experiences from their lives, the Residential Operations Manager must work with staff to ensure the program policies and procedures are welcoming and comfortable. The Residential Operations Manager must have a firm understanding of trauma, the effects of trauma, engaging traumatized people, and be comfortable working in a Voluntary Services/ Housing First program model. This position is also an essential staff member for the Residential Program, requiring one week of on-call coverage per month and one Saturday shift per month. The Residential Manager is responsible for developing an excellent working relationship with other HRM program and its staff, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure the timely, effective and seamless provision of services and must have the maturity and leadership skills to work with people from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds in many different capacities. Standard Schedule: Standard hours for this position are Monday- Friday, starting between 7:00am-11:00am and finishing between 3:00pm-7:00pm. This position provides on-call coverage for the 24-hour Residential program on a rotating basis, which may include some evening and weekend work when on call. Managers are expected to flex their schedules as needed to attend to critical work activities (events on site, meeting with participants with schedule conflicts, etc.).
