Description

Peabody Properties seeks a Part-Time Van Driver to join it's team of property management professionals at a Permanent Supportive Housing Development for Homeless and at-Risk Veterans in Basking Ridge, NJ.

The primary responsibility of the Part-Time Van Driver is to provide transportation to residents in the community.

This position requires a valid driver's license and safe driving history. Knowledge of handicapped accessories and safe transportation practices are required. Driver will be available for scheduled medical appointments, routine shopping trips, and outings.

Responsibilities

  • Drives vans for the purpose of transporting residents to medical appointments, routine shopping trips and outings in a safe and timely manner.
  • Fuels assigned vehicle (e.g., oil, water, fuel, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining vehicle in a safe operating condition
  • Informs Property Manager of any incidents (e.g., rules, regulations, laws, procedures, suspicious situations, etc.) for the purpose of providing information for follow-up action and/or proper procedures.
  • Maintains assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior (e.g., cleaning floors/windows/seats, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safety, appearance, and sanitation of vehicle.
  • Monitors passengers during transit for the purpose of maintaining order and ensuring the safety of passengers.
  • Performs regular inspections (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure, exterior condition, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the safe operating condition of the vehicle.
  • Prepares documentation (e.g., daily mileage and condition reports, incident/accident reports, inspections, disciplinary and positive behavior reports, mileage, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
  • Assist Service Manager with light maintenance duties when not performing Van Driver functions.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
  • Maintain a professional decorum at all times

 

Education and Experience:

  • Valid CDL driver’s license
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience driving passengers under a class C certification
  • Valid Class C Passenger Endorsement
  • Safe driving record
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Excellent customer service skills
