This internship is with Panavision and is part of the Gold Rising Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members. Program Scope:
Panavision interns will learn how their field of study is used in the development and implementation of camera positioning systems for feature films, television, and interactive media. Interns will receive hands on experience in how the Panavision Operations department functions, getting a rare chance to assist preps and build general knowledge of providing customer service to the industry’s leading productions.
Areas of Interaction:
Logistics – Introduction to how to handle, ship, deliver and receive equipment. Learn what departments service specific equipment
Service – Introduction to Opt0-Mechanical theory, history of Panavision lens line. Introduction to anamorphic theory, generational differences and customer preference
Storeroom – Learn contents of specific accessory cases, build cases and assist from counter. Introduction to lens control systems
Prep Floor – Assist in pull and prep orders. Support client demos by grabbing / exchanging equipment. Continue to build knowledge of how a camera package comes together
Skills / Experience Required:
Current student taking courses in Film / Cinema program. Interest in cinematography preferred
Ability to work well with film Industry affiliates
Willingness to learn, goal oriented, persistent
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with both internal and external customers
Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities where necessary
Ability to remain flexible towards changes in schedule
Ability to work on own initiative without constant supervision

While performing the duties of this job, the intern is regularly required to talk and hear. The Intern frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms. The Intern may also be required to lift product or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position is part-time and normally works 24 hours per week.
