Description

Specialized Family Foster Care Supervisor- needed for full-time, permanent (may consider temp to perm) position in the Bronx.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and supervision to four Case Planners/Family Specialists and a Parent Advocate.

• Timely approves assigned employees’ electronic time sheets, approves or disapproves PTOs and completes employee performance evaluations.

• Regularly conducts individual and group supervisory conferences to review caseload management, activity and progress.

• Participates in training and consultation sessions to develop skills in evidence-based and evidence-informed models and ensures that direct reports effectively utilize these models and do so with fidelity.

• Attends internal and external meetings as necessary. Including interdisciplinary team meetings.

• Participates in the recruitment and hiring of program staff and in disciplining and terminating employees within their unit in accordance with CGS policy.

• Monitors development and implementation of program improvement plans of assigned staff.

• Maintains a professional and collaborative approach while interacting with the Socio Therapist Team.

• Provides leadership to the planning team to expedite safe family reunification, reduce step-ups and lateral moves, and expedite adoptions and KinGap finalizations.

• Ensures that Family Team Conferences (SPRs) are scheduled and held by identified due dates.

• Participates in family team meetings and ensure that Case Planners develop skills in understanding, assessing and engaging families, children and foster parents in the service plan process and create workable and realistic service plans.

• Ensures that the Case Planners/Family Specialists engage families and effectively delivery services for purposes of reunification, addressing issues which necessitated placement.

• Ensures assigned team’s participation and completion of all required and mandated trainings.

Salary Range: $65,000-$67,000.

 
Position Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work; LMSW preferred

• Minimum two (2) years experience with families and children

• Experience in Child Welfare

• Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including periodic evenings and weekends, and ability to travel to community settings throughout NYC

• NYS Driver’s license preferred
