Major responsibilities include (not all inclusive): The office routinely receives calls during the evening and weekend hours regarding arrests and law enforcement emergencies which must be relayed quickly and professionally to the duty personnel in both Brooklyn and Central Islip, NY. Specific protocol for calls will be provided, but in general, calls are accepted, and messages are taken for routine matters. Emergencies are immediately dispatched to duty personnel or the Public Information Officer. Copies of all messages including the status of calls placed to duty personnel should be faxed or e-mailed to the staff operator immediately upon returning the phones. Skills / Certifications: Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls, emails, and text messaging Excellent computer skills Customer Service Knowledge Bilingual is a PLUS Ability to multi-task Great active listening skills Exceptional interpersonal and rapport building skills A patient and empathetic attitude Strong time management and organizational skills Adaptability and flexibility Comfortable working in fast-paced environments Troubleshooting skills, either basic or advanced, depending on the role and industry Phone skills, including familiarity with complex or multi-line phone systems Expertise in the customer service area Strong communication, both written and verbal Qualifications: Must be at least a High School Graduate Must be a citizen of the United States of America This position is part time working 8 hour shifts between the hours of 5:30 pm – 9:00 am Monday – Thursday and 5:30 pm Friday – 9 am Monday.
