Job Summary

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invites applications from individuals who possess excellent interpersonal, administrative and logistics skills and who are detail-oriented multi-taskers for a seasonal position of Specialist, Logistics for the 96th Oscars Season. This position works with the Awards Production and Events team. The individual must be well-organized, efficient, customer service oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Input logistical information in data management system.
  • Execute logistical requests and requirements as directed by the Awards Production and Events Department.
  • Coordinate parking requests interdepartmentally between Academy and vendors.
  • Order and manage inventory of production needs and expendables.
  • Manage special projects logistical needs from start to finish.
  • Operate as a point person for various departments and work closely with the production team and vendors.
  • Distribute logistical requests to Academy staff and vendors.
  • Support logistics for Oscar’s marquee events, such as; Nominations Announcements, Nominees Luncheon, Governors Awards and Oscars Telecast.
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors and coordinating timely payment of invoices.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Special Events, Awards Publicity, Marketing and Digital teams.
  • Ability to work onsite and remotely depending on event schedule.
  • Los Angeles based.
 
Position Requirements

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years-experience in television, event production or comparable work environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience on Awards Shows and Oscars a plus.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Advance skills with Google Suite, Dropbox, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to function smoothly and efficiently as part of the team.
  • Strong sense of initiative and willingness to take ownership of projects both small and large in scale.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, and able to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly-professional verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work professionally with others departments and Academy board members.
  • Some nights and weekend work will be required and assigned on short notice.
  • Valid California Driver License.

The expected starting salary for this role is $25.00. The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
