Job Summary

The Pierogies are the mascots that run the Great Pittsburgh Pierogy Race during every Pirates home game. In addition to running the race, The Pierogies also participate in appearances both at PNC Park and around the community.

Responsibilities

Primary

  1. Running in the Great Pierogy Race during every Pirates home game.
  2. Responsible for the Chick-fil-A Cow appearances during Pirates home games.
  3. Responsible for participating in suite holder visits following the first pitch of every game.
  4. Responsible for appearances at PNC Park gates before Sunday games and assisting with Kids Run the Bases following Sunday games.
  5. Participate in special appearances at PNC Park and around the community.
  6. Willing to learn the Bucco Brigade duties and fill in when needed.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Game Presentation Department.
 
Position Requirements
  1. Must be 18 years or older.
  2. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  3. Must be able to run/sprint 280 yards in 40 seconds or less while wearing mascot suit. You will be required to come in and do a timed trial run prior to hiring.
  4. Comfortable working with the public, especially children.
  5. The ability to charismatically think on your feet as a costumed performer during fan interactions and appearances.
  6. Must be able to obtain Act 33, 34 and 73 Clearances.
  7. Ability to work 70% of 81 home games (57 games) with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  8. Ability to attend at least 70% of all special event appearances.
  9. Prior performance or entertainment experience is preferred.
