We are seeking a Mid-Level LHA Hull and Mechanical (H&M) and Aviation Engineer for the Amphibious Warfare Program Office for the US Navy in the Washington, DC Navy Yard area. The office manages the acquisition of Navy amphibious ships and craft including: America class Amphibious Assault Ship (LHA (R)) Amphibious Assault Direction System (AADS) Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) The incumbent will be responsible for: Providing overall LCU H&M engineering management support to the programs Technical team. Reviewing Boat Alts, test plans, and test reports and performs applicable engineering analyses as necessary. Working/updating the status of work in the programs IDESC. The person in this position will research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. Travel up to 20% of time.   Position Requirements Required Education, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university. Knowledge of welded steel hull design and manufacturing, piping systems, diesel propulsion, and shipboard aviation systems is highly desirable. Secret Clearance Required NOTE: Professional experience can be substituted for an engineering degree if five (5) or more years of specific work experience can be demonstrated in an analogous or higher level position. Additionally, professional experience can be substituted for all other educational preferences if five (5) or more years of specific work experience can be demonstrated in an analogous or higher level position.
