Position Assistant Operations Manager - Bars & Lounges

The Assistant Manager is a key support role within the Bars & Lounges Division of our Food & Beverage department. They ensure that all Bars & Lounges outlets maintain top-notch visitor service standards while following SNHD requirements. Working collaboratively with other departments, especially F&B Operations, this role helps execute and coordinate activities within the bar and lounge area.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and excels at communication and teamwork. The Assistant Operations Manager should possess a deep understanding of various aspects of Food & Beverage operations. Responsibilities include coaching, managing hourly team members, training new hires, scheduling staff, upholding brand standards, executing directives from upper management, and sharing knowledge through strong leadership.

  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse individuals at all levels, achieving optimal results diplomatically.

  • Build and develop a strong team to enhance the department's and company's overall success.

  • Utilize technology and business planning software proficiently to create financial projections and reports promptly.

  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager of Bars & Lounges and the Operations Manager of Bars & Lounges to meet the food and beverage and operational requirements of assigned venues.

  • Work with the Public and Private Sales teams to ensure that events and BEOs are executed in accordance with contracts, paying exceptional attention to detail.

  • Coordinate with various support teams across the property to execute events and BEOs, including security, housekeeping, customer experience, warehouse, property ops, production, and attractions.

  • Hire, train, and oversee front-of-house and back-of-house staff as needed.

  • Ensure that all staff members receive training in food preparation, legal alcoholic beverage service, kitchen safety, and SNHD standards.

  • Establish daily and weekly work schedules for both front-of-house and back-of-house staff.

  • Maintain a professional appearance in the workplace.

  • Manage POS system items, transactions, and basic maintenance.

  • Perform daily upkeep, verification, and corrections in timekeeping software.

  • Accurately oversee staff payroll and tip distribution.

  • Collaborate with local suppliers for the purchase of spirits, dry goods, supplies, etc. Manage inventory, COGs, labor, product mixes, valid work cards, etc.

  • Exhibit ART! (AREA15’s service standards) at all times.

  • Be available to respond to time-sensitive matters.

  • Perform other work-related duties.

  • Be available to respond to time-sensitive matters” for all managerial positions.

Position Requirements


  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.

  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency in conflict resolution and negotiation.

  • Financial analysis and basic accounting knowledge. Proficient in POS systems (Square), timekeeping software (Paychex), and purchasing systems (Yellow Dog).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, particularly in managing food standards, costs, safety, work schedules, shipments, and cleaning schedules.

  • Creation and application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure departmental consistency.

  • Proficient knowledge of applicable SNHD guidelines and requirements. Established interpersonal relationship skills.

  • Possession of valid work cards (Health, Alcohol Awareness, and Non-Gaming).

  • Experience in team development and building.

  • Minimum 1-yearexperience in a managerial role in high-volume food and beverage operations.

  • Strong leadership skills, including exceptional time management and delegation.

  • Ability to work varied shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Adaptability to work in an environment with varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.

  • Physical endurance to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.

  • Proficiency in the English language.

  • Ability to withstand extreme weather conditions, such as but not limited to high temperatures, heat, and sun exposure.
