SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Residential Services Manager/QIDP, the Life Enrichment Coordinator will assist in the development of activities for residents of Betty’s Village. The coordinator will assist in the recruitment and maintenance of volunteers to support the activities. The coordinator will provide a monthly schedule of activities at Betty’s Village and in the community that provide engagement, socialization, and community integration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and maintain monthly calendar of activities and events at Betty’s Village
  2. Develop monthly calendar of community events of interest to residents
  3. Organize on site activities and events at Betty’s Village
  4. Manager volunteers to support the activities and events at Betty’s Village
  5. Encourage and engage resident participation in community events
  6. Ensure a safe and fun environment for all participants
  7. Develop community resources and volunteers to form effective partnerships
  8. Invite community partners to sponsor activities at Betty’s Village
  9. Support residents to obtain transportation to events outside of Betty’s Village
  10. Maintain connections and network in the community
  11. Gather information from residents about their activity interests
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no staff supervisory responsibilities.

 

 

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, residents, individuals, co-workers and supervisor (verbal and written)
  • Ability to communicate and work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Must perform with an enthusiastic, positive, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret instructions gain knowledge and have initiative
  • Computer savvy
  • Customer services oriented
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, and multiple tasks, bust be flexible
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the team. Acts with integrity, honesty and openness, and a willingness to operate as a team player
  • Must be resourceful, creative, organized, and detail oriented

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience in recreation
  • Successfully pass a criminal FBI and local background check
  • Pass an initial drug and alcohol screening
