Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

The primary duties of this position include providing intensive case management services to SED/at risk children and adolescents. The person in this position works collaboratively with child and family clinicians to promote community adjustment and enhance the child and adolescent’s functioning capacity at home and in school. Services are provided in multiple settings, including the home, school, and community. He/she carries a cell phone to provide crisis stabilization and emergency intervention services as needed. Another duty of this position entails providing coverage for the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA) liaison position as needed. This individual will be able to work effectively in both the community and home environment. The case manager is expected to facilitate positive consumer relations, maintain integrity, and protect the rights of clients. He/she reports to the Case Management Supervisor or his/her designee.

 

The Child Case Manager provides targeted case management to Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED)/ At Risk children and adolescents. Services provided in multiple settings, including in the home and in the community. Virginia driver’s license in good standing required. Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience that demonstrates that the candidate possesses the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position, including:
