Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.
The H-NNCSB and Hampton City Schools are partnering to offer School Based Outpatient Therapy and Crisis Intervention, including a mobile response, throughout the school division. Therapists will work collaboratively with school personnel to offer mental health services beyond the traditional level of school support. Therapy services will be provided before school, after school or during a designated time during the school day.
The School-Based Licensed Therapist manages a caseload of managed care clients with mental illness and/or co-occurring substance related disorders in an outpatient setting involving assessment evaluations of in-coming clients and ongoing therapy. Involves decision making and application of complex theoretical approaches to individual, group and family therapy, educational sessions.

Licensed Therapist Requirements: LPC, LCSW or LMFT licensed professional with two (2) years clinical experience including therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention and case management functions. Must be eligible or approved for MCO credentialing.
