Email Opening Apply Now Title Physical Therapist Assistant  Description Job Summary Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant will carry out individual designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients/clients within the established Plan of Treatment. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with the Yellowhawk Mission and Vision statements. Essential Job Functions: Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Responds appropriately and promptly by notify the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient's progress and modifying treatment plans if required. Document patient care services promptly in the electronic medical records and updating department chart records, as required. Instructs patients in proper in home exercises and safety instructions. Facilitate group rehabilitation activities. Maintain awareness of issues related to the profession of physical therapy and the health care environment. Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding physical therapy. Understands patient eligibility criteria related to billing and treatment guidelines, as well as clinically appropriate means/modes of delivery. Provide quality care as well as reasonable goals and outcomes within the guidelines. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Maintains awareness of patient and community needs, conditions, and programs. Other duties as assigned.   Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Active Oregon State Physical Therapist Assistant License. Current BLS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. Knowledge of responsible use of facility equipment, best practices for equipment use and preventative maintenance procedures. A strong sense of empathy, a compassionate outlook and the ability to motivate patients. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Working knowledge of computer operations including electronic health records, electronic mail, word processing and database (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain insurance requirements to operate General Services Administration vehicles. Must submit to and pass a criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination. Preferred Qualifications: Work experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in outpatient setting. Experience working in a Tribal Healthcare System.
